About "Planet Forefather Volume I: Extinction, Ch4":

Our new character flanking Lieutenant John Kotov is Captain Anna Kuzmina, a weapons engineer specialized in sphere guns.  John uses the excuse of improvements to get her to Ceres pub. Here I have Kotov trying to be a chivalrous date, but it’s just not his thing.  He goes for the direct route and traps Anna into spilling the beans.  John gets angry, he’s a soldier, not a killer.

            This chapter made me stop and think as I wrote it.  What is the role of a soldier?  In this fiction the Solar Marines are an elite corps specifically designed to protect the earth.  A huge, overreaching task, but at the same time, one single, clear mission.  Do whatever it takes to stop the Forefathers so they can no longer threaten the Earth. And this is John’s dilemma; can he accept the fact that all actions are on the table if it means stopping the Forefathers?  Let’s see what happens in chapter 5!
