The Dark Revolution Trilogy

Three years after the end of Revolutionary Wars in the Centerlands, exiled House Gotharus and its allies are driving the Just Republic to the brink of collapse. Absolutism, republicanism and anarchy are intertwined as nobles and commoners struggle to dominate and change the richest of the six great lands. An unsettled peace across borders is threatened by war, manipulated by an invisible force throughout the chronicles of the three books. Commoners and sympathetic nobles struggle to coalesce to save the Just Republic, end serfdom and transform the lands. The imaginary world of The Paramount is the backdrop for a fantasy trilogy with philosophical undertones about contrasting values of liberty and subjugation.

The Demon on Stilts

Great Sage Bannock Milin is tasked with solving the murders of a noble couple instrumental in the establishment of the Just Republic.  As Bannock travels the perilous roads of the Centerlands with his young journeyman sage, he discovers a link between the murders and The Church of the Whole which threaten the Just Republic.  As dangers grow along the brigand-controlled roads, Bannock hires men-at-arms and seeks the wisdom of fellow sages to solve the mystery.   The Great Sage’s investigations result in a chance encounter with two children that he suspects are the key to the future of the Church.  When the company finds itself trapped in the city of Achart with House Gotharus at the gates, the great sage must decide on a final confrontation.  With war on the horizon, Bannock and his company find their paths converge with that of the Demon-on-Stilts.
