It worked! After forcing myself to write utter rubbish, slowly some decent ideas began to form. I had to do quite a bit of deleting the first morning, but by the afternoon I was rolling. Two days ago I wrote nearly two chapters and yesterday I wrote a chapter and a smidge. Yes, instead of two chapters I wrote three to finish Null City because I felt it needed a proper closer. All that is left is the epilogue, but I don’t plan on writing it until after I have completed my revision.

What have I learned? When you’re stuck you need to find your own way and for me that is the Word Plow. Dig up that dry and dusty sheet of parchment because underneath there is fertile substrate waiting for the writer who perseveres. I can finally let my book rest for a while and move on to my next writing adventure!
