We are reaching the halfway point in the Flash Fiction Series, and Kotov is in full crisis mode.  Plagued with doubts, he mulls over the information he received from his colleagues, Signal Officer Saetang and Captain Kuzmina and decides to meet with Brigadier General Collingwood.


            Kotov feels like discussing the cataclysmic mission with Collingwood is a must.  When writing this chapter I asked myself if a soldier has this kind of relationship with a high ranking superior.  Considering the nature of the mission I couldn’t think of a reason why he wouldn’t get personal with his general.  Collingwood is a sharp, humane man, and it seemed plausible to me that if there were a similar situation in real-life Earth, the two counterparts would indeed meet to discuss the ethics behind such a mission.  Maybe the soldiers out there will let me know.
