Next up is the unusual graphic novel ‘Steampunk Blues Volume I: TenebroCity’. It is not a typical graphic novel, but rather a novelette that has been augmented with illustrations and graphics thanks to the work of Daniele Simoni e Aurora Giampaoli (you can find their bios on my ‘collaborators’ page). Their creative work brings the characters to life in a way that wouldn’t be possible with just the written word.

I wrote the TenebroCity in the first-person perspective of a sixteen-year-old boy who finds himself transported into an RPG he thought up with his friends. The protagonists are transformed into their characters and face off against an increasingly dangerous enemies in the dark menacing called TenebroCity. The story came easily, but the challenge was keeping my mind in the headspace of a sixteen-year-old. It was quite a bit of fun to go back in time and imagine myself as a teen battling comic book foes.

It’s out this month, so stay tuned!
