I’m happy to say that my piece of flash fiction, The Parking Lot , was well received. The instructor offered a few bits of constructive criticism for improving some of the sentences, but the story worked well. I can’t say I held strictly to the letter in this assignment. I predominantly used hearing, smell, taste and touch, but I slipped in a little bit of sight. But the exercise did remind me of what I constantly forget, and that is to incorporate as many senses as possible when writing. It really does make the description richer.
