First Writing Class: Part 7

Now we’re in the thick of it. Or more accurately, at the end of it. The next class is also the last class and the last exercise is a tough one because it has to be a personal, poignant event. Unfortunately, the one that came to mind is a rather embarrassing one. I could write something else, but that wouldn’t be in keeping with the spirit of the writing class. The event that came immediately to mind was something that happened when I was fifteen. The strange thing is that I had completely forgotten about it. If in the last class the instructor hadn’t asked us to write down five memories, I don’t think I ever would have thought about it in all my life. Or maybe it was always there …


I will be going back in time trying to capture the entire event in a single page. I can already feel that it will be very easy to write and impossible to write. It’s just another piece of flash fiction. No big deal. So why am I avoiding it?
