Decision Made

After hemming and hawing the last few days I have finally decided to suspend writing my historical novel. I’m just too bogged down with the “Blood Interrogator” companion anthology, my flash fiction and the writing exercises. I also have to dedicate about three weeks to my upcoming draft revision of “Null City”. So, suspending the historical novel was the most logical decision to make, but logic and creative writing don’t normally see eye to eye.

I am confident when I say that the suspension is temporary. It might be a long temporary (I have two other novellas on hold that I started writing before researching my historical novel) but I know I’m not abandoning it. I may even do a little bit of research from time to time and scrawl down some notes so when I start back up again, I’ll have a quarter tank of gas for my creative engine. I wish I could write more, but I find that I hit a wall after a certain number of hours and I’m too mentally tired to continue.

The important thing is to keep writing something!
