What to Write?

It’s a complicated time for writing. I’ve been working on exercises, writing flash fiction, and have started a novelette / short story companion anthology for “Blood Interrogator”. But I also need to find time to write the final draft of “Null City” and pick up my historical novel again. What to do?
These are not easy choices. When so many ideas are floating around, I find it difficult to focus on one piece of work. I’m not a fast enough writer to work on long works in parallel, so I have to look for other solutions. A few weeks ago, I even wrote a piece of flash fiction called “Meet Mr. Snap” because I couldn’t get him out of my head. Since that particular novel won’t be written for a while I felt compelled to get him out there. It did manage to calm the itch regarding that novel, but I still have too much on my plate.
The easiest choice is to suspend the historical novel because it’s the most complicated. I’m not sure it’s the right choice, assuming there is such a thing as a ‘right choice’, but it’s what I think I will do. And speaking of choices, I haven’t even tried to query anything in months, so I may have to go with self-publishing for my first full length novel.
Woe is me!
